Personal achievements/successes: Evidence of Achievements
An evidence of achievement summarises all results of a person in a course: per assessable course element with score, status and date, e.g. for completed tests or submitted and assessed tasks.
A PDF certificate can also be issued as confirmation that a course has been attended or that certain course-related activities have been completed. A certificate can also be issued without the use of an evidence of achievement.
Who awards evidence of achievement?
Course owners define in their courses whether participants see their evidence of achievement. They find the option "Show evidence of achievement to participants" under Course > Administration > Settings > Assessment (see Course Settings - Tab Assessment). OpenOlat creates the evidence of achievement regardless of this setting; course owners and coaches always see it in the assessment views, e.g. when resetting course data or during recertification.
Where can I see the evidence of achievement?
Users find their evidence of achievement and, if activated, also their received certificates both in the respective course in which the evidence of achievement or the certificate was issued and collected in the personal menu.
Evidence of achievement in the personal tools
The display in the personal menu is suitable for obtaining a quick overview of all personal evidence of achievement and certificates already received in OpenOlat. This allows you to quickly navigate to the individual evidence of achievement and certificates and obtain further information. Activate all the columns relevant to you in the overview, e.g. Score, Passed, Certificate. If the grading module is active, you can additionally show the "Rating" column with the achieved grade; the "Reference" column, hidden by default, shows the course's reference. Your column selection is stored permanently.
If you are a member of a product in the Course Planner, select a product, "Individual Courses" or "All Evidence of Achievements" above the list.
Click the icon "ePortfolio" to save an evidence of achievement as an element in the Media Center and to insert it into your Portfolio binders. In this way, compilations of evidence of achievement can be combined for different purposes and also made accessible to specific persons.
Important
Evidence of achievement and certificates are only displayed once achievements have been made, once these have been assessed and once the visibility has been released for the participants. Issued certificates can also be downloaded.
External certificates
You upload externally acquired certificates in the personal tool Certificates, provided the administration allows it. Uploaded certificates appear there and not in the list of evidence of achievement.
View evidence of achievement in the course
If the evidence of achievement is activated in a course, participants find the link "Evidence of achievement" in the toolbar under "My course". A click on it shows the assessable course elements of the course with their current assessment status.
Important
The link to the evidence of achievement only appears in the course once at least one assessable course element exists and the participants themselves have received at least one assessment. This can be, for example, the attempted solution of a test or the assessment of a task.
